Before you learn the Spanish language, ask yourself what reason(s) you have in doing so. To be specific, are you going to learn a foreign language because your friend is also learning it? Do you have to speak Spanish because you have Spanish-speaking friend who does not know how to speak in straight English very well? Or, it could be a personal interest why you want to learn the language.


There could be a hundred reasons that people have why the Spanish language is such a great language to learn. But learning it, is not a piece of cake. Think of it this way, learning this language for the first time can be compared to a child attending the very first day of his/her class; a blind person opening his eyes to the bright and unknown world or a puppy trying to decipher what the word "fetch" means.


It will help a lot though if you think for a while of the purpose that learning and speaking Spanish language will serve you after all the necessities are done.


There are suggestions that learning first the words and popular phrases of the language is actually better. In some aspect of learning, it does have its own benefits. Learning Spanish by words and phrases is a great way to introduce yourself to this communication tool. But you have to understand that you also have to keep in mind how to properly use the words or phrases you learn. When it is time to use and practice what you have learned, the situations in which you can participate are applicable to very specific situations only.


Which gives a clear distinction that if you want to learn the language for the love of it and for whatever purpose it may sever you later on, you might want to try learning through an in-depth study. But, it all goes down to how you respond to your study progress. It does not matter whether you have learned all the important points of the Spanish language, or just some few important areas; as long as you continue to apply it situations beneficial to you and the person you have engaged in a conversation.
